Our goal is to provide you with the unique experience of a fly-in day ice fishing trip where all of the logistics have been well thought through and taken care of for you.  You do not need to be a pro fisherman to enjoy and take full advantage of spending a beautiful day in the remote wilderness.  Although you may choose to bring your own gear, each trip has been equipped and setup in such a way that you only need to bring your personal items, snacks, appropriate clothing for the day, and a fishing licence.

Your skiplane charter will depart at (10:30am) in the morning from the ice on Yellowknife’s back bay and fly you approximately 51 kms (33 statute miles) north to the Gin Family’s, Yellow Dog Lodge located in the solitude of the Northern Canadian wilderness of the Northwest Territories at Davis Channel between Duncan and Graham Lakes.  The flight takes 18-20 minutes.

After we land on Graham Lake you will be greeted by your hosts. The lodge staff will provide you with the equipment and instruction you need for a fun filled afternoon of ice fishing on a remote northern lake.  Each group is a private group and size is restricted to (5) five guests to provide you with a more personal experience and access to your guide.

Your guide will provide you with a selection of snacks and warm beverages throughout the afternoon. You will have the shelter of the lodge
after fishing while you are waiting for the aircraft to return and fly you back to Yellowknife.

This is an outdoor activity so you are encouraged to bring

warm clothing with you; snow-pants (a must!), winter jacket, boots, hats,
mitts, etc.. You may also consider ski-goggles and/or sunglasses as our spring
days tend to be very bright and the ice can be quite reflective.

Fishing in the Northwest Territories of Canada requires a
fishing license.  If you don't have a fishing license you may get one at
the fishing lodge - the process is simple and the license will make a unique
souvenir for those guests that have traveled to Yellowknife from away.

Your plane will leave Yellowknife at 2:30pm to return to
Yellow Dog Lodge, providing time to load and taxi the aircraft at Yellow Dog
Lodge you should expect to be returned to Yellowknife at about 3:30pm; in time
to get back to your home, or to your hotel, freshen up after a long day and get
yourself ready to enjoy your evening plans.

If Aurora viewing is part of plans you may consider spending
a night at the lodge to get away from the ambient light of the city.  For information on overnight accommodation
and meals please contact the lodge directly.
